Suzie Woods
Educator
Suzie Woods brings more than 35 years of experience in education and a lifelong passion for teaching to KEY Choices. After 30 years with Claremore Public Schools, Suzie retired—briefly—before returning to the classroom to teach 8th-grade science at Sequoyah. Throughout her career, she has taught nearly every subject in grades 5–8 and has been named Building Teacher of the Year three times in Claremore and once at Sequoyah. She was also a finalist for the 2024 Aeros Northeast Oklahoma Teacher of the Year, an honor based on student nominations.
Born in Yoder, Kansas, Suzie attended school in Anadarko, Oklahoma, before continuing her education at SWOSU in Business Education, OSU in Psychology, and NSU in Education.
Suzie married Russell Woods in 1988, blending their families and later welcoming a daughter together. They have three children and two beloved “Nanababies,” who have continued the family’s OSU tradition.
When she isn’t teaching, Suzie enjoys traveling the world, reading, caring for their “geritots,” and learning the art of stained glass. Although she has tried retirement more than once, her love for teaching continues to bring her back to the classroom—and now to KEY Choices.
